Terms and Conditions

  1. Agreement relates solely to space noted above plus corridors, toilets etc– use of other spaces requires separate approval and additional fee.
  2. Use of the kitchen is expressly prohibited unless specifically agreed in advance.
  3. All catering will be provided by on-site caterers unless agreement otherwise is sought and obtained.
  4. Alcohol must not be served / consumed in Church area or Sacred Space.
  5. If alcohol is served, suitable non-alcoholic options must be made available.
  6. Storage space available is very limited. Lumen URC reserves right to require removal at any time. Lumen URC accepts no liability for any losses or damage to items stored.
  7. Charges will be reviewed by Lumen at six-monthly intervals and increases will be applied to multiple bookings after giving one month’s notice.
  8. Hirer must leave spaces hired / used in clean & tidy state. Lumen will not be responsible for confidential papers left on the premises.
  9. Hirer must comply with any specific requirements stated by Lumen with regard to entry / exit from building and locking building / setting alarm after use.
  10. Entire building is non-smoking area – including garden – deposits will be forfeited if evidence discovered.
  11. Procedures for building evacuation must be announced at start of hire and followed in the event of an emergency.
  12. Hirer should familiarise themselves with fire safety requirements and abide by them.
  13. Notices to be affixed only to designated points with blu-tack or equivalent. No pins / nails.
  14. Hirer must indemnify Church against all actions, claims and demands generated by Hirer’s use of building, including copyright, licence requirements etc.
  15. Cancellation policy - in the event of a cancellation the individual or organisation booking the space should be aware that:

·         The deposit required to confirm your booking is non refundable

·         For cancellation, 2 weeks’ notice is required to avoid payment of the remaining balance

·         Bookings can be moved once (no later than 2 weeks before the original event date) at no additional charge according to availability and previous arrangements made.
